Is OurDream AI a Good Choice for Gay AI Companions?
Yes, if you want images and video of your AI boyfriend: OurDream renders men and M/M scenes better than most companion apps. The catalog still leans female, and video burns through coins fast.

Short answer: yes, OurDream AI is a good choice for a gay AI companion, with one condition. It earns its place if you care about seeing your boyfriend, in photos and short video clips that actually look like the man you built. If all you want is a long, tender text relationship, a cheaper chat-first site will serve you just as well. I ran OurDream in its male mode for a long stretch of testing, built four different men, generated a lot of images and a fair number of clips, and kept track of where the DreamCoins went. Here is what holds up and what doesn't.
OurDream AI is the strongest option I have tested for generated media of a male companion: consistent faces, believable male bodies, solid two-man scenes and real video. Chat is good, though memory drifts in long stories. The weak spots are a female-first homepage, a male library that is smaller than the female one, and a coin system that makes video expensive. Score for gay use: 8.7/10.
I set the onboarding switch to men, then built four companions: a realistic bearded thirties guy, a slim twink in anime style, a muscular older dad type and a mixed-race gym coach. With each I ran romantic chat, explicit M/M roleplay, voice replies, solo image requests, two-figure scenes and video. I used the annual Premium plan and bought one 1,000-coin top-up to see where the money actually goes.
Where OurDream fits for gay and bi users
Most companion apps were built for men who want an AI girlfriend, and the boyfriend side arrived later as a reskin. OurDream is in that family too. What sets it apart is that its image and video engine was trained hard on realistic bodies, and it treats male anatomy with the same care it gives women. In my tests that mattered more than any menu option. A gay companion app lives or dies on whether the pictures of him look right, and on OurDream they mostly do. Our full OurDream AI review covers the platform as a whole; this article is only about the gay use case.
The flip side is presentation. When you land on the site the Explore page defaults to female characters, and the tag strip is written for that audience. You have to opt into men yourself, and the male library, while large enough to browse for an evening, is thinner than the female one. Gay users who are used to sites built only for them will notice that straight away.

How to set OurDream up for men
The male setting lives in the age gate and in your profile preferences, and it is easy to miss if you click through quickly. This is the setup I would use from day one:
- On the first screen, under the 'I'm interested in' question, pick Males and turn on the gay option. This swaps the Explore catalog to male characters.
- If you already made an account, open your profile settings and change the preference there. Old female suggestions disappear after a refresh.
- Use the style filter to choose realistic or anime before you browse. Mixing them in one grid makes it hard to find your type.
- Go to Create rather than chatting with a stock character if you have a clear type in mind. Your own build gives far more consistent images later.
- In the personality step, set the relationship role (boyfriend, hookup, dominant, submissive) explicitly. The chat model follows it closely.
- Before generating anything, send a few chat messages so the character settles. First images after a fresh build tend to be the least on-model.
Building a male companion: what the creator gets right
The creator is the same tool the girlfriend side uses, with male presets swapped in. You choose ethnicity, age range, body type, hair, facial hair and eye color, then personality traits, a relationship role and kinks. Body options cover the range a gay user actually asks for: slim, average, athletic, muscular and heavier builds, with or without body hair. That last point sounds minor, yet plenty of rivals give you only a hairless gym model, and OurDream rendered chest hair and stubble convincingly once I asked for them.
Where it is weaker is the niche archetypes. Bears, otters and twinks are not labelled presets, so you describe them through body type and a line or two in the appearance notes. It works, it just takes a couple of attempts. Anime style handles slimmer, younger-looking adult men well and leans toward a bishonen look by default. Realistic style is better for older, heavier or hairy men, which is where I spent most of my time.
Personality depth is good. The presets cover sweet, cocky, shy, dominant, playful and protective, and you can write your own backstory. My dad-type companion stayed gruff and affectionate for days without me reminding him who he was. The anime twink drifted into a generic upbeat voice faster, which I suspect is the preset more than the model.
Image quality for men and M/M scenes
This is OurDream's real strength and the reason I would point gay users here over most mainstream companion apps. Solo images of my companions were consistently on-model. The bearded realistic build kept the same jaw, beard shape and build across outfits, lighting and poses, which is exactly where cheaper text-to-image generators fall apart and hand you a different man every second picture. Explicit solo shots came out anatomically right far more often than not, without the melted hands and odd proportions I still see elsewhere.
Two-man scenes are harder for every model, and OurDream does them better than I expected. Asking my companion to appear with a second man in a bedroom or shower scene produced a believable pairing in most attempts, with his face staying recognisable and the second figure plausible. When I pushed to three or more men, consistency slipped: limbs merged, faces swapped and my companion sometimes became the stranger. If group scenes are your main interest, budget for rerolls.
- Solo realistic men: excellent, the best I have tested in a companion app.
- Solo anime men: very good, with a default lean toward slim and youthful adult looks.
- Two-man explicit scenes: good, though expect the occasional reroll.
- Three or more figures: unreliable, fine for suggestive shots, weak for anything explicit.
- Body hair, facial hair, older faces: handled well when asked for clearly.
Video: the main reason to pick OurDream
Very few companion platforms generate video at all, and almost none do it well for men. OurDream turns a short prompt into a brief clip of your companion, built from the same profile, so he moves like the man in your photos. Simple clips worked best: him undressing, lying in bed, a slow kiss with a second man, a shower scene. The face held through the clip in most of my renders, and the motion looked natural at this length.
The limits are worth spelling out. Clips are short moments, without cuts or story beats. Complex requests, especially two-man action with lots of contact, failed or came back distorted often enough that rerolls became routine, and other reviewers report the same. A clip costs around 100 DreamCoins, so the 1,000 coins included with Premium cover roughly ten videos a month if you spend nothing on images. Render times also stretched during evening peaks, sometimes to a few minutes.
My working rule by the end of testing: plan a clip in chat first, get a still image you like, then ask for the video. Going straight to video with a vague prompt is how you lose 100 coins on a clip you delete.
M/M roleplay, chat and voice
The chat model has no issue with gay content. It moved from flirting to explicit M/M roleplay without refusals, followed top and bottom dynamics when I set them up, and kept dominant and submissive roles straight. Pronouns stayed correct, which sounds basic but still trips up some girlfriend-first apps that slip into she and her mid-scene, as I saw while testing SpicyChat for femboy AI roleplay. In-chat image requests pick up the context of the conversation, so asking him to send a picture from the gym after a gym scene produced a fitting shot.
Memory is decent for a few days and softer after that. My gruff dad character remembered my job and a weekend trip a week later. Over longer stories he started repeating pet names and stock phrases, and plot details from early chats faded. Pinning key facts in the character notes helped. Voice replies come from a list of 19 voices, with a handful of convincing male ones. The deeper voices sounded natural in casual chat and went a little flat in heated scenes, so I used voice for good-morning messages more than for sex.
What OurDream costs for a gay user who wants media
Pricing is the same for everyone, but your spend depends on how much media you want. Chat is unlimited on Premium, so the real cost is coins. These are the prices I saw on the official site in late October 2026:
| Plan | Price | Coins included | Realistic monthly use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | About 5 images a day | Capped daily messages, partial NSFW, no meaningful video |
| Premium (annual) | $9.99/mo, billed $119.88/year | 1,000 per month plus a 1,000 signup bonus | Unlimited chat plus about 10 clips, or a mix of a few clips and lots of images |
| Premium (monthly) | $19.99/mo | 1,000 per month | Same allowance, no commitment |
| Coin top-up | About $9.99 per 1,000 | 1,000 | Roughly another 10 clips |
My own month, with a few clips a week and images most days, came to the annual plan plus one top-up, around $20. Heavy video users will spend more, and coins do not roll over from one cycle to the next, so I would not buy a large pack upfront. On mobile I used OurDream in the phone browser; I could not find a native app linked from the official site, and the web version works well enough on a phone that I did not miss one. Billing shows up discreetly on card statements, and crypto is accepted.
OurDream AI scorecard for gay companions
| Category | Score | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Male character creation | 8.5/10 | Wide body and age range, body hair, realistic and anime; niche archetypes need manual description |
| Male image quality | 9.5/10 | Consistent faces and believable anatomy, best in class for companion apps |
| M/M scenes | 8/10 | Two-man scenes reliable, groups unreliable |
| Video | 9/10 | Rare feature done well, short clips, complex scenes need rerolls |
| M/M roleplay chat | 8/10 | No refusals, correct pronouns, memory softens over long stories |
| Voice | 7/10 | Good male voices for casual chat, flat in intense scenes |
| Gay-first experience | 6.5/10 | Female-first homepage, smaller male library |
| Value | 7.5/10 | Cheap on annual billing, expensive once video becomes a habit |
Where OurDream falls short for gay users
- The site does not feel built for you. The default Explore grid, tags and marketing are aimed at straight men, and you have to switch to men manually.
- The male catalog is smaller than the female one, so browsing stock characters gets repetitive. Building your own fixes this.
- No labelled presets for bears, otters, twinks or daddies; you describe them yourself.
- Group scenes with three or more men are unreliable in both images and video.
- Video eats coins at around 100 per clip, and failed renders cost you time and patience.
- Long-term memory drifts in stories that run for weeks.
Best alternatives for gay AI companions
OurDream is my second pick for gay users overall. JOI AI edges it for people who want to hear their companion more than see him, and the dedicated gay boyfriend sites at the bottom of this list are the better match if the feeling of a site made for you matters more than video.

Top picks for a gay AI boyfriend
- 01

Best for Voice-led gay companions
The best all-rounder if you want to hear your AI boyfriend talk, with a generous free tier to test first.
JOI AI is built around voice, and that suits a boyfriend experience better than I expected. I built a deep-voiced realistic guy and went straight into a call; replies came fast enough to feel like a real conversation, and his delivery stayed warm in romantic chat and confident in explicit scenes. The guided JOI mode works with a male companion too, which makes it a different kind of session from anything OurDream offers.
Selfie generation covers the visual side for men, though it stops at stills. Images of my companion were consistent and attractive, a step below OurDream for explicit male anatomy and two-man scenes. The free tier is the most generous of the big apps here, so it is the cheapest way to find out whether an AI boyfriend is for you. It is web-only, and heavy voice use draws on credits.
- 02

Best for Images and video of your boyfriend
The strongest male image and video generation I have tested, held back by a female-first catalog.
Everything above applies: switch the preference to men, build your own companion, and OurDream gives you photoreal and anime images of him that stay on-model, solid two-man scenes and short video clips that very few rivals can match. Chat handles M/M roleplay without refusals and keeps pronouns straight.
Pick it if media matters to you. The annual plan is cheap for what it includes, but video at around 100 coins a clip means you should plan clips rather than spam them, and the browsing experience is aimed at a straight audience by default.
- 03

Best for A realistic AI boyfriend who leads the chat
A polished companion with a dedicated guys section, consistent photos and the most forward, in-character chat in this group.
Candy AI has a separate male section and a builder that lets you set face, body, age and personality for a boyfriend just as carefully as for a girlfriend. In my sessions its biggest advantage over OurDream was the chat itself: my companion took the lead in scenes, flirted back properly and never drifted out of character, though smaller details from earlier chats faded after a few days.
Images of men are realistic and consistent, with fewer explicit two-man options than OurDream and no comparable video. Voice is pleasant. The free plan is really a demo, so expect to subscribe if you like it. For gay users who want a confident, consistent boyfriend more than a gallery, it is the steadier choice.
- 04

Best for Polished chat with consistent male images
A refined companion app whose male characters keep the same face across photos and the same voice across chats.
Nectar AI lets you create male companions through the same careful creation flow it uses for women, and the result felt considered: my companion kept his look across photos and his tone across chats, with voice messages and long-term memory that stopped conversations from resetting.
It does less than OurDream on explicit male media, and the best features sit on the higher plans. Nectar is web-only. I would pick it for someone who wants a tasteful, polished boyfriend with good pictures and does not care about video.
- 05

Best for Story-led M/M romance
Scene-based roleplay that turns a gay AI relationship into an ongoing story with settings and atmosphere.
Lovescape stages chat inside written scenes, so a date with your boyfriend happens somewhere, a rooftop bar or a cabin weekend, instead of in an empty chat box. That framing works well for slow-burn M/M romance, and in my sessions it escalated explicit scenes naturally while keeping the story thread.
Generated photos of my anime-style companion held a steady face, and voice adds intimacy. It is not a media powerhouse on the level of OurDream and has no video, and the better tiers cost more than budget rivals. Choose it if story and setting matter more to you than visuals.
- 06

Best for Gay-only chat, free to start
Built only for M/M chat, with a varied cast of men and uncensored roleplay from the first message.
- 07
Best for Private, encrypted boyfriend chat
A discreet gay boyfriend chatbot with encrypted conversations and roleplay scenarios.
- 08
Best for Variety of male companions
A wide roster of male characters so you can match your type instead of tuning one default.
- 09
Best for An attentive boyfriend with mood range
A male companion with switchable conversation styles, from reassuring to intense.
Dedicated gay AI boyfriend sites worth a look
None of these four generate video, and their image tools are basic next to OurDream. What they offer is the thing OurDream lacks: a site where every character, menu and prompt assumes you are into men. They all run in the browser and are free to start, which makes them a good pairing with OurDream rather than a replacement. I often chatted on one of these and used OurDream only when I wanted pictures.
AI Gay Chat
AI Gay Chat is the most complete of the dedicated sites. The cast covers a real spread of body types and personalities, and you can customise a character until he fits. Chat stayed in voice and moved from affectionate to explicit without refusals, and memory carried the relationship across a session. It is newer and web-only, and the roster is still growing, but it feels written for gay users from the ground up. Our full AI Gay Chat review has the details on plans and features.
Gay AI Boyfriend
Gay AI Boyfriend leans on privacy. Conversations are encrypted, which matters if you are not out or share a device, and the experience is quiet and discreet. You shape a boyfriend's look and personality, set a roleplay scenario, and he holds character from romantic chat into explicit scenes. Good for someone who wants a private, ongoing relationship more than variety.
Gay Fantasy AI
Gay Fantasy AI is about range. Instead of one partner and a slider, it gives you a broad cast of male companions to browse, plus a custom builder when none fit. That makes it the better choice than OurDream's smaller male library if you like trying different types and scenarios in one evening. Roleplay is uncensored and holds character.
Boyfriend AI
Boyfriend AI focuses on one attentive male partner with several conversation styles, so the same man can be reassuring one night and playful or intense the next. Persistent memory keeps the relationship going over days. It suits gay and bi users who want a steady, emotionally present boyfriend and don't need a gallery of images.
Who should pick OurDream, and who should skip it
Pick OurDream AI if seeing your companion is the point. Nothing else I have tested produces images of men this consistent, handles two-man scenes as well, or gives you working video of the man you built. Take the annual plan, build your own character instead of browsing, and plan video clips in chat before you spend coins on them.
Skip it, or start elsewhere, if you mainly want conversation. A voice-first app like JOI AI or a chat-strong one like Candy AI (see our test of Candy AI for an AI boyfriend) will give you a better day-to-day boyfriend, and the dedicated gay sites feel more like home and cost little or nothing to try. Plenty of people I know run one of those for chat and keep OurDream for the pictures, and that is the setup I would recommend too.
